In Snow Space Salzburg, a ski patrol team with an emergency paramedic is on standby on all three mountains during
ski slope opening hours.

The toilet facilities at the cable car stations
are available to all winter sports enthusiasts.

  • Use of parking areas

The mountain railways provide sufficient parking spaces at the valley stationsand ensure that snow is cleared daily.

The ski touring ticket entitles you to use the extensive ski bus network in the region. Tip: The ascent route in Alpendorf/St. Johann is particularly easy to reach by public transport.

5 PEAKS Touring Trophy

Do you love climbing under your own steam? Then the new 5 PEAKS Touring Trophy is just the right challenge for you! You can show what you're made of on our five marked ski touring ascent routes in Alpendorf, Wagrain, Eben, Radstadt and Altenmarkt.

Right at the start, your start time is recorded when you pass through the access reader, and then it's time to start collecting altitude metres! The goal is to reach the photo point on the mountain, where you take your summit photo to record your arrival.

If you are part of the MYPEAKS community, you will automatically take part in the 5 PEAKS Touring Trophy with every successful ascent. At the end of the season, great prizes await the most diligent altitude gain collectors – provided by our official touring partner Atomic.

Verticalmeter-Challenge

CLIMBER – WHO HAS THE GREATEST ENDURANCE? The person who accumulates the most altitude metres on all five tour routes throughout the season wins the trophy.

Ski touring coaching for beginners in Wagrain.

Want to take your first steps on touring skis? Then our ski touring coaching for beginners is just right for you! Every Thursday, experienced touring pros will show you the most important basics of technique, equipment and safety at the valley station of the Rote 8er gondola lift. You can put what you've learned into practice right away – including 260 metres of altitude difference to the middle station.

Equipment tip:

Don't have any ski touring equipment yet? Right next to the valley station of the Rote 8er, there is a ski touring test centre where you can hire the equipment you need. You can find all other winter sports shops/ski hire outlets here.

Safety rules when ski touring on the slopes

You enter the touring routes and pistes on your own responsability. The use of snow groomers - especially with cable winches - and alpine hazards can lead to life-threatening situations. Emergency equipment must be carried.

Entering is at your own risk, we accept no liability for accidents!

We would also like to point out that there are currently no piste rescue services in the entire monte popolo ski area in Eben and therefore the rescue chain is not in place until further notice.

In order to avoid accidents, we ask you to observe the following recommendations in addition to the FIS rules of conduct:

  • Observe warning notices and local regulations.
  • The closure of a piste or part of a piste must be obeyed. The use of snow groomers - especially with cable winches - or avalanche blastings, etc. can lead to life-threatening situations. For safety reasons, pistes can therefore be closed for the duration of the work.
  • Only use the designated ski touring routes.
  • Only ascent at the edge of the piste and one behind the other.
  • Cross the piste only in clear places and with sufficient distance to each other.
  • Only ski on freshly groomed pistes in the peripheral area. Tracks frozen in overnight can seriously impair the quality of the pistes.
  • From 8.30 a.m. to 5 p.m., you can go ski touring along the designated ski touring routes on your own responsability and at your own risk.
  • Leave the pistes by 5 p.m. Piste closure is from 6 p.m. to 8.30 a.m.
  • Make yourself visible. Use a headlamp, reflective clothing, etc. in the dark or in poor visibility.
  • Do not take dogs with you on the pistes.
  • Use designated parking spaces and pay any parking fees occuring.
