Snow Space Salzburg makes your dreams come true! Since the winter season 2020/21 there is something that has never been possible before: skiing from A to Z, from Alpendorf to Zauchensee. The new Panorama Link Gondola links the ski areas of Snow Space Salzburg, Shuttleberg Flachauwinkl-Kleinarl and Ski Paradise Zauchensee with each other and achieves an unparalleled possibility: 210 km of slopes, 70 modern lifts, over 85 mountain restaurants and all of it 100% snow sure. Thanks to the new link, Snow Space Salzburg is now not only one of the biggest, but also one of the most varied ski areas in Austria.

Winter Highlights in Snow Space Salzburg

The new ski link in the heart of the Ski amadé area offers so many advantages

  • The ski area is 100% snow sure from the beginning of December until Easter thanks to its height of around 2000 metres, 1200 snow machines and the new link with the high alpine area of Zauchensee.
  • 210 kilometres of pistes (103 km red pistes, 73 km blue pistes, 8 km black pistes und 20 km ski routes) and 70 cable cars all with just one ski pass – skiing in Salzburg has reached a new dimension!
  • Mobile Ticketing saves you the annoying waits at the ticket office.
  • For a break along the way, you can choose from over 85 mountain restaurants, ranging from rustic and traditional to stylish and modern, all offering you a wide range of culinary choice and specialities, such as the „Sweet Temptation“.
  • 50 snowcats are at work every day, preparing the slopes so that you can race downhill in perfect snow conditions.

  • The ladies international world cup elite deliver an exciting showdown every year on the 2 world cup slopes in Flachau und Zauchensee.

  • 2 hotspots for the international freestyle scene are also found in the Salzburg ski area: the popular Snowpark Alpendorf as well as one of the biggest snowparks in Europe, the  Absolutpark in Flachauwinkl.

  • Free WLAN throughout the whole ski area – so that you can use the Ski amadé App or post your photos and videos on social media, without using up your own limited internet minutes.

The ski area is a winner because it is so easy to get to

  • Snow Space Salzburg is just 50 minutes south of Salzburg and can be reached easily and quickly via the Tauern A10 Motorway (take the Bischofshofen exit and follow signs to St. Johann - Alpendorf or take the motorway exit E66 towards Flachau and Wagrain).
  • 7 access points to the ski area, all with their own car parks in Snow Space Salzburg or a total of 11 access points within the whole new ski link area, which means that you are parked and on the pistes as quickly as possible.   
  • Sustainability is important to you so you prefer to travel by public transport? No problem. There are direct connections from Vienna, Linz, Munich, Düsseldorf and also many other main cities in Germany.

Flachau: Skiing like Hermann Maier

Herman Maier the „Herminator’s“ hometown offers you long, widepistesto practise your big, smooth carving turns on. Families love Flachau for this reason. 

A deciding factor is also the easy access to Flachau. The ski area is located near the motorway exit of the Tauern A10 Motorway. Even the ski elite have recognised the quality of the ski pistes in Flachau, which is why the Audi FIS ski world cup ladies night slalom takes place here every year.

Wagrain: Skiing in the centre

Wagrain is the centre of the Snow Space Salzburg ski area and with its G-LINK Wagrain quite literally offers the connection between the two ski mountains of Grießenkareck and Grafenberg.

The G-LINK is one of the biggest connecting cable cars in the world and is a top attraction in itself. Skiers from all over the world appreciate the quality of the Wagrain ski area. It is especially popular with families because at the middle station of the Red 8 Gondola you can find the ultimate children’s snow paradise : Wagraini’s Winter World.

St. Johann-Alpendorf: the first step into the pleasure of skiing

St. Johann-Alpendorf is your first access point into the Snow Space Salzburg ski area, because it is the nearest point to Salzburg and it also has a long-distance train station.

The ski area is popular among easy skiers and sporty skiers alike. If you are the sporty type, you will love the race course and the Infernal Trio with its 3 black pistes which demand a certain amount of courage and expertise. If you are a freestyler, you will probably already know the Snowpark Alpendorf, as it is a popular hotspot on the freestyle scene.
