Snow Space Salzburg

The three ski resorts in Flachau, Wagrain and St. Johann work together under the new brand Snow Space Salzburg, thus combining the best the mountains have to offer.

The companie behind Snow Space Salzburg

In spring 2017, Bergbahnen AG Wagrain and Fremdenverkehrs GmbH acquired Bergbahnen Flachau GmbH, marking the inception of the premium ski area brand Snow Space Salzburg in the heart of the Salzburg mountains.

This move was followed by a legal merger of the two cable car companies in Wagrain and Flachau at the beginning of 2019. The new company, based in Wagrain and named Snow Space Salzburg Bergbahnen AG since April 1, 2019, immediately became one of Austria's largest cable car companies.

On February 1, 2023, a further merger included the Alpendorf Bergbahnen AG. Under the brand Snow Space Salzburg – Best of Mountains, they have been jointly serving the skiing market for several years, including family ski areas monte popolo in Eben i.P. and Hahnbaum in St. Johann im Pongau.

New brand ”Snow Space Salzburg“

With more than 50 years of history, the Flachau, Wagrain and St. Johann-Alpendorf ski resorts now start under a new constellation with a joint brand. The logo of the new brand name – “Snow Space Salzburg“ – also contains the names of the three villages Flachau, Wagrain and St. Johann. Thus, the entire ski resort will benefit from the strength of the “Snow Space“ brand, which the mountain railways in Flachau have established – also by regularly staging ski world cup races – over the past 20 years. The additional reference “Salzburg“ creates the perfect link to the location because Salzburg is – in every aspect

– a world destination of tourism. The new slogan - “Best of Mountains“ – highlights the fact that Snow Space Salzburg provides everything what guests expect when it comes to mountains in winter as well as in summer. Snow is one of the core competences which is demonstrated by perfect pistes  throughout the season. Beautiful natural surroundings, a wide range of culinary delights and perfect service are further strengths of the region, guaranteeing unforgettable winter and sports experiences.
