1st CEV European Snow Volleyball Championships in Wagrain

Do you know what Wagrain, Kranjska Gora in Slovenia, Malbun in Liechtenstein and Disentis in Switzerland have in common?

They are all stops of the Snow Volleyball Tour! While the international top tournament visits Wagrain already for the tenth time in 2018, it will be the first time that participants will fight for the European title.

What is snow volleyball?

When you hear volleyball, you think of hotpants, hot sand and high temperatures?

Well, snow volleyball is a little bit different: think warm clothes instead of hotpants and glistening snow instead of sand …

In short: Snow volleyball is just like beach volleyball – only in the snow at 2,000 meters above sea level!

Did you know that snow volleyball has its origins in Wagrain at Snow Space Salzburg? Today, the sport is part of an internationally renowned tournament series with plenty of prize money.

1st CEV European Snow Volleyball Championships in a nutshell:

  • What? Snow Volleyball 
  • When? from March 22 to 25, 2018
  • Where? at 1,850 meters above sea level at the mountain station of the Flying Mozart cable car. Event area can be reached without skis.

What snow volleyball fans can expect

Surrounded by the most beautiful mountain summits of Snow Space Salzburg, spectators get to enjoy snow volleyball at its best in the especially built snow arena.

The international men’s and women’s teams will give their all to bump, set and spike their way to victory and bag the coveted title of King of Snow.

Hot sounds, cool drinks and some exciting matches at Snow Space Salzburg – doesn’t this sound great?

In addition, the atmosphere will be fired up by the “Ö3-Pisten-Bully” party vehicle complete with Ö3 DJ. You still want more? A special Jacuzzi, VIP lounge and cheerleader entertainment are sure to bring a bit of beach spirit to the snow at 2,000 meters above sea level!
