As one of three villages of the Snow Space Salzburg ski resort, Flachau offers you three valley stations to start into your day of pure skiing pleasure. No matter which entry point you choose, getting there is easy thanks to Flachau’s proximity to the Austrian motorways.

Arriving by car

If you arrive by car, there are several ways to get to Flachau, depending on which direction you come from.

Coming from Vienna: Motorway A1 – exit A10/E55 towards Villach/Salzburg Süd – exit E66 Flachau Wagrain

Coming from Munich: Motorway A8 towards Salzburg – interchange Salzburg A1/A10 towards Villach/Salzburg Süd – exit E66 Flachau Wagrain

Coming from Carinthia, Italy and Slovenia: A10 Tauern motorway– exit E66 Flachau Wagrain 

Coming from Graz: Motorway A9 – exit 69 Selzthal – Ennstal Bundesstraße B320 towards Radstadt, Schladming, Liezen – Altenmarkt B320 – towards Wagrain on B163

Coming from Zell am See: Federal road 311 to St. Johann im Pongau – B163 to Wagrain 

Good to know: traffic tips for your journey to Flachau

  • Toll sticker: If you get to Flachau via an Austrian motorway or dual carriageway, you need a toll sticker. These are available at all service stations and border crossings. Find out more about the toll sticker
  • Emergency corridor: In case of congestion, all drivers on Austrian motorways are obliged to form an emergency corridor. Learn more about the emergency corridor
  • Winter tyres: From November 1, all drivers on Austrian roads are obliged to have winter tyres. We recommend having your car checked before your journey to Flachau.

Arriving by train

Choose the train if you want to get to Flachau all comfortably relaxed and without any traffic jams. Get off at Radstadt train station, which is about twelve kilometres from Flachau. From there, we recommend using public transport or a local taxi company.

Arriving by plane

Located about 70 kilometres from Flachau, Salzburg is the nearest airport to the ski resort. From there, it’s easiest to take a taxi or hotel shuttle service.
